The National Museum's Louis Leakey Auditorium was a bee-hive of activity last weekend.
Twakutukuza trust was doing a concert for the benefit of those fighting breast cancer. This a brain-child of Doris Mayoli, a cancer survivor, intended to create awareness and help raise funds for the fight against cancer. From the turn-out on saturday, one would confidently say that guys at Twa (Twakutukuza) were not dissapointed in the least bit.
All and sundry braved the Saturday down-pour to fill the Leakey Auditorium as artist after artist gave their all to make the event a success. The concert was running from friday the 22nd to Sunday the 24th.
Kanjii mbugua's 'dream again' epitomizes the struggle Doris went through as a cancer patient and the ultimate glory of healing, alas! God doesn't waste pain but uses it to minister to others. This seems to be the rallying cry to give hope and inspiration to the cancer patients out there while raising funds to assist those undergoing treatment.
..........I can be food to the beggar saying will you help me man!.........
kanji belts out the tune implying we are the hope and answers to a people going through pain and tough times.
Aaron 'crucial keys' rimbui led the band throughout the evening and played for the Twa choir which led the ever zealous crowd to inspiring jibes and jives of popular chorus which led the souls higher and higher into glorious oblivion.
.......eeh eh eh my God is good oh!......reciprocated the crowd as the night seemed to grind to a halt since no one was tempted to leave.
.......everything go double double..........go double double...... and the cycle goes on and on and on.
Neema and Andy Mburu also didn't dissapoint as the attendants kept yearning for more throughout the evening.
As far as Charity events go, Twa has gone a notch higher in redifining corporate responsibility and from the names on the poster it isn't hard to figure out why they all want to be associated with Twakutukuza Trust.
Such are: Classic 105, X-fm, Passion magazine, Kipawa and the ever talented kijiji records crew.
Enough said! that was a saturday well spent.
